Defined by Silhouette. The NEO SAMURAI Style.
A one-of-a-kind asymmetrical high neck hoodie that represents the essence of TATZU.
Designed as a unisex piece, it can be worn naturally regardless of gender.
Created by combining Japanese vintage kimono with a modern streetwear silhouette, this hoodie exists as a truly one-of-a-kind garment.
A dramatically flowing asymmetrical hem. A sculptural high neck. A hood and body boldly crafted from vintage black tomesode.
Its oversized silhouette moves naturally with the wearer, creating a different impression from the front, side, and back.
Rather than simply applying kimono fabric as decoration, designer Tatsu carefully studies the flow of each pattern, the negative space, and the balance of colors before determining the placement for every individual garment.
Tradition, reborn into a new silhouette.
This hoodie embodies TATZU's signature Neo Samurai style.

Design
The defining feature of this hoodie is not only the kimono itself.
Its powerful presence comes from TATZU's original asymmetrical silhouette, carefully designed with varying lengths from every angle.
Multiple elongated panels create movement and depth, allowing the garment to flow beautifully as you walk.
Although generously oversized, the vertical panel lines and sharply angled hem create a refined, streamlined silhouette.
The design is completed not only from the front, but also from the side and back.
To further emphasize this distinctive silhouette, the neckline is constructed higher than a conventional hoodie.
A chest welt pocket and side seam pockets are carefully integrated into the overall silhouette, balancing function with design.
Opening or closing the front zipper transforms both the silhouette and overall impression, allowing for a variety of styling options.

Comfort & Fit
Designed with a relaxed oversized silhouette.
It drapes naturally over the body without emphasizing its shape, making it easy to layer over different outfits.
The asymmetrical hem creates strong vertical lines, giving the garment a sharp appearance despite its volume.
Its oversized proportions allow it to be worn comfortably by people of all genders.

Lightweight Construction
The lining is used only where necessary, including the upper back and facing.
By avoiding a full lining, the garment remains lightweight despite its long length.
It can be worn not only as a hoodie, but also as a lightweight jacket or coat.
Layer it with different inner garments to create a wide variety of looks throughout the seasons.

Vintage Kimono Used
This piece is made from a vintage Kurotomesode featuring peonies, chrysanthemums, pine trees, traditional court carriage motifs, and elegant bird designs.
Vibrant shades of orange, gold, and soft pink emerge beautifully against the deep black background, creating a refined balance of elegance and strength.
The rich black of the Kurotomesode harmonizes with the floral motifs and graceful bird imagery, giving the fabric a timeless sense of dignity and presence.
Every kimono is unique, making each garment truly one of a kind.

Pattern Placement
Every vintage kimono has its own composition, family crest, and arrangement of motifs.
For that reason, each garment requires a completely different approach to pattern placement.
At TATZU, every kimono is carefully examined after being taken apart, allowing the patterns to be positioned where they will have the greatest visual impact—across the front, back, hood, pockets, and every other part of the garment.
For this piece, vibrant floral motifs have been placed across the front, while the elegant bird motif becomes the focal point of the back. The traditional family crest has also been incorporated as part of the overall design, creating a balanced composition that celebrates both the artwork and the depth of the black fabric.
The hood also features bold kimono patterns, creating a strong visual statement from the front, side, and back. When worn up, it frames the face with the beauty of the vintage textile, offering a different expression depending on the styling.
Rather than simply applying kimono fabric as decoration, each pattern is thoughtfully reconstructed to harmonize with the garment's silhouette while preserving the original beauty and composition of the textile.
